10 years of Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau

The Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau shines with new highlights on its 10th birthday.

For the 10th anniversary of Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau, the new Hornbahn 2000 starts. Once at the top station, the "Top of Alpbachtal" offers a magnificent panoramic view of the Tyrolean mountains. Families can also look forward to the Schatzberg Zwergenland directly at the Schatzbergbahn middle station. The spacious area offers plenty of space for learning to ski and playing in the snow.

Welcome at the Top of Alpbachtal

An absolute highlight will be the mountain station of the new Hornbahn 2000 at the highest point in the ski area. Named "Top of Alpbachtal", it features a 13-metre-high observation tower with an interior with panoramic windows and a viewing platform with a unique 360-degree panoramic view. Snøhetta, an internationally renowned architectural firm with a branch in Innsbruck, is responsible for the architecture. In keeping with the tradition of the Alpbachtal, the tower is built of wood and clad with handmade shingles. Large glass fronts provide light and a far-reaching view of the surrounding mountains. The interior corresponds to an informal seating landscape. A Tyrolean parlour reinterpreted architecturally. Visitors can take a short rest there and enjoy the view.

The history of the Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau

On 07 December 2012, the Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau started its first winter season.
A new 8-seater gondola lift runs directly from Inneralpbach to the Schatzberg and connects the two regions of Alpbachtal and Wildschönau. This created one of the largest ski areas in Tyrol. In addition, the two-kilometre-long ski slope from the Schatzberg to the middle station of the connecting cable car has since provided even more skiing pleasure. For 10 years now, Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau has been a varied ski area that promises an unforgettable winter experience, especially for families.

The ski area in the Wildschönau celebrates 75 years!

Tyrol's first lift was built in Niederau in 1947. The 1-seater chairlift was put into operation on 14 January 1947 and carried skiers up to the Markbachjoch until 1971.
